What kind of configuration are you running?  If you
have a firewall, is it open to the outside on the
correct port (e.g. port 80)?

If you want to keep the general public from attempting
to log into your SJ archives then you can consider
creating a SSH tunnel and then accessing SJ through
that.

Setting up SSH can be a bit of an exercise but well
worth the effort once you get everything working.
