TORIT, 29th November, 2011 [Gurtong] – The Sudanese’s Primary Leaving
Examinations for 2011 commenced yesterday morning in Eastern Equatoria
State (EES) supervised by 79 invigilators and across the entire
nation. The Ministry of Education, Science Technology has reported.

Amid commencement of the exercise, Gurtong visited Torit Secondary
School with 2 centres to witness the start. Gurtong held official
interviews with the centre’s chief invigilator, Mr. Ocheng Anthony,
and one of headmasters Mr. Idro Henry Mariano.

1,984 registered candidates in 23 centres across EES are expected to
complete their three day exams by Wednesday of November 2011.

One of the centres had 276 candidates missing their exams due
unavoidable reasons involving administrative transfers since most of
them were from (SPLA), explained Mr. Idro Henry Mariano, the
headmaster of Hiyala Adult Literacy Program.

Regretfully, Mr. Mariano told Gurtong that 10 soldiers managed to
register for 2011 PLE in his school but only 6 of them have managed to
sit for the exams.

Among the 78 primary schools are; Dr. John Garang Memorial, Torit
East, St. Kizito, St. Mary Iboni, Chukudum, Omeo, Obo, Lobone ALP,
PogeeOwiny-Kibul Central, Nyongwa, Pageti, Rei, Anzara, Masindi, Lafon

Heritage.
