OVER 9,000 PUPILS SIT FOR BASIC LEAVING EXAM IN CENTRAL EQUATORIA Wednesday, 11 January 2012 14:51
More than 9,000 pupils began today their basic and primary leaving examinations in the six counties of Central Equatoria state with the test on English. Deputy Governor and state minister of Education Manase Lomole Waya rang the bell for examinations at the Chinese Friendship Centre in Munuki Payam. Mr Lomole congratulated the pupils for taking these year’s examinations in an independent country. He told the pupils that they were well prepared to lead in the future the state and the whole country. The minister called on the pupils to approach the examinations with peace of mind. Mr Lomole revealed that over 3,800 pupils were sitting for the Uganda curriculum for the last time in South Sudan. Next year all pupils will do the South Sudan primary leaving exams. The Director General at the state ministry of Education David Lowela said a total of 9,109 pupils are sitting for both Primary and Basic examinations in the state, including 3,614 girls.
