Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:32 South Sudan >>> .The police cells in
Juba are holding hundreds of foreign women sex workers who were
arrested in December last year in a crackdown on the city.

Speaking to Radio Miraya on Saturday, the police spokesperson, Mading
Biar Mading, on Saturday said the suspects will be deported to their
respective countries.

According to the police spokesperson, the officers collected details
of all the suspects and have informed the country representatives of
the suspects in South Sudan.

"For the foreigners, the police did scrutiny, listed them and got full
information about each of them, knowing them and their nationality. As
we register foreigners, we tell them sex work is not acceptable and
can lead to their expulsion," Biar said.

Biar said the South Sudanese ladies who were also arrested during the
crackdown will be punished if found guilty.

A total of 13 South Sudanese girls, mostly teenagers, according to the
administration of Juba Central Prison are serving different terms of
imprisonment for alleged involvement in commercial sex in Juba City.
