The Director General at the National Directorate of Nationality,
Passports and Immigration has again reiterated the government’s call
on all foreigners to access legal documents to guarantee their stay in
South Sudan.

Speaking to Bakhita Radio this morning in Juba, Augustino Maduot Parek
said his ministry’s decision to request documents from the foreigners
was intended to legalize their stay in the country and evict criminals
who entered illegally in South Sudan.

He stressed that the government is against people who are smuggled
illegally in the country by means of human trafficking

Mr Maduot added that those entered legally into South Sudan through
its borders or airports are welcomed and the government is ready to
serve them with the relevant documents because some of them come to
invest and contribute to the development of the new nation.

He said the government is against people who entered the country using
unlawful means and are committing crimes such as theft, smuggling, and
human trafficking against the nation.

Hundreds of foreigners in Juba were seen today at the National
Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Immigration to process their
legal papers.
