Friday, 16 March 2012 13:33

Members of Eastern Equatoria state Assembly representing Kapoeta
counties have condemned the abduction of two youths yesterday morning
by a militia leader at Khartoum International Airport.

Deputy Speaker Paul Napwon read a press release on behalf of the other
representatives from Kapoeta and condemned the arrest allegedly by a
militia security leader Yusuf Peter Lotipe, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He claimed that the arrest was done under the instructions of
Brigadier Jacinto Akudo Nayanga from Kapoeta who commands a militia
for the Khartoum government.

Mr Napwon said Peter Martin and Marino Mariko were arrested yesterday
at 9:00AM and their whereabouts were unknown.

The deputy speaker claimed that the arrests were planned by the
Khartoum government to create militia groups to fight South Sudan.

Mr Napwon said Khartoum did not accept the oil shutdown but South
Sudan is a sovereign nation.

The MPs called on the government of South Sudan, the United Nations
and the international community to intervene and rescue South Sudan’s
citizens being kidnapped in Khartoum.
