Returnees to strain limited resources, says FAO
Friday, 13 April 2012 05:58 South Sudan >>> . The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization has called for urgent funding to offer agricultural support to an expected influx of South Sudanese returning from the Sudan. In a press release the FAO said hundreds of thousands of people may be forced to return from the Sudan because of a continuing failure to resolve their citizenship status. The organization said it has received only five (5) million dollars out of the twenty three (23) million US dollars it called for in 2012, to respond to urgent food security and livelihood interventions in South Sudan. FAO noted that due to lack of funds it can provide only 63.000 households with agricultural support. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
