The swearing took place in the Governor’s office in the presence of
the State Deputy Governor, Manase Lomole Waya. Some of the Ministers
were however not present at the swearing in ceremony.

The three new Commissioners of Yei, Juba and Lainya Counties who were
last Wednesday appointed by a Governor’s decree are the only ones who
have taken an oath of allegiance among other commissioners in the
state.

Manase Lomole Waya challenged the ministers to come up with a plan of
action for the next three months. “Come up with clearly defined plans
of action so that we can utilize the limited resources we have,”
Lomole said.

He also called on the ministers to be able to come up with bills and
polices in their ministries adding that he was going to monitor the
performance of the different ministries.

Lomole further called on the ministers to commit themselves to
transparency and accountability and be able to visit the common people
in the villages.

Nevertheless, he cautioned them against propaganda and urged them to
work as a team for a peaceful and vibrant Central Equatoria State.

He called on them to work for the unity of the people of Central
Equatoria, South Sudan and the foreigners residing within their
territories. Lomole warned the commissioners against linking crimes to
specific tribes the perpetrators come from.

The commissioners were also expected to provide weekly State security
reports if not on daily basis.

Central Equatoria State is also demanding that the commissioners give
quarterly reports on development finances which will be allocated on
quarterly basis to the Counties.

They were also urged to ensure the security and peaceful co-existence
among the different tribes and nationalities residing in their
Counties especially the Commissioner of Juba.
