OVER 100 LAKES STATE YOUTHS REGISTER TO JOIN ARMY
Saturday, 21 April 2012 12:43 Over 100 youths from Lakes State have registered to join the army following a mobilization campaign to beef up the number of soldiers who are currently at the frontline defending the territorial integrity of South Sudan. Daniel Dut Makuet, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education at Nairobi’s Catholic University of Eastern Africa, joined the army and is in charge of the Lakes State youth mobilization team. He told Good News Radio after the official launch of the Mobilization and Sensitization Campaign in Rumbek that he joined the army to defend the country. Mr Dut noted that the task of defending the country is in the hands of the young people. He pointed out that he would have loved to continue with his studies but the priority now is the urgent national duty of defending South Sudan. Another volunteer Manyiel Dut Kok studies Agriculture at the Catholic University of South Sudan in Wau and chairs Lakes Students Union. He said Sudan is undermining the sovereignty of South Sudan; if the threat is not checked his dream for graduating will be shattered. Mr Dut revealed that the mobilization team has registered over 100 youths and that the recruitment is still in progress. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
