May 1, 2012 (RUMBEK) - The Governor of Lakes State, Chol Tong Mayay,
announced his long-awaited state cabinet on Tuesday night comprised
with a new ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport making a total of 13
state ministers.

Lakes State’s new cabinet has two female ministers; the minister of
Physical Infrastructure lead by Ms. Adak Costa Mapuor; and the
minister of Parliamentary Affairs Mariam Paul Jebi.

The reshuffle was implemented using three separate decrees. The first
- Decree No.10/2012 - relieved Athian Majak Malou from his position as
director general of the Ministry of Rural Development.

In Decree No.11/2012 Mayay also relieved two advisors; Ms. Adak Costa
Mapuor as advisor for Gender and Human Right; as well Mr. Machuor
Marial Wuol as advisor for Food Security.

Decree No.12/2012 appointed the 13 ministers and a new commissioner
for the state’s headquarters, Rumbek.
