One person has reportedly been killed and another wounded during an
attack near a cattle camp in Jonglei State.

The attack by unknown gunmen took place near Pakou cattle camp in Twic
East County.

The commissioner of Twic East county, Dau Akoi Jurkuch calls on the
government to intervene and stop attacks, saying some youth, who
boycotted the recent mass disarmament in the state, are hiding in
swampy areas of Twic East.

"We have been appealing to the government to make aerial surveys in
the Twich (swamps) area because all the criminals of Murle now are in
Twic East," he said.

"They are hiding in the swampy areas where they will attack the
people. So that's why we are appealing because this thing will be
continuing. Now it is beginning of rainy season. It will be worse more
than now".

Last week, two people were killed and another wounded in a cattle raid
on Wangulei Payam in Twic East County. The incidents come just a few
weeks after the six chiefs of Jonglei State signed a peace agreement
