Members of the Abyei Community in Juba on Monday called for the
immediate withdrawal of Sudanese forces from the Abyei.

The community members have asked the United Nations Interim Security
for Abyei to expel Sudanese troops who are in Abyei town.

Speaking to journalists in Juba, the chairperson of the Abyei
Community Executive Committee, Deng Mading said the Sudan government
must comply to with the African Union resolution calling for a
withdrawal of forces from Abyei.

"We urge UNISFA to expel SAF outside Abyei town by force. Their
mandate is under chapter seven of the UN charter," said Mading.

"We asked them under the command of Gen. Tedese in Abyei to hand over
the 17 criminals of Missiriya militias' awlad camel and janajawid who
have been arrested in Abyei town to International Criminal Court for
further justice".

South Sudan withdrew its 700 man police force from the contested Abyei
area two weeks ago in compliance with an African Union Roadmap to
Peace.
