University of Juba to reopen in two weeks Sudan Radio Service Juba, 14/06/12 - The Minister of Higher Education has disclosed that the University of Juba will reopen within the next two weeks. The administration of the University of Juba in March closed the higher learning institution as inter-communal violence spread from the campus to surrounding areas. Dr. Adwok Nyaba spoke to SRS on Thursday in Juba. [Adwok Nyaba]: “I think it will not take a long time that this week or the coming week the Vice Chancellor will announce that the university should be opened. Indeed we even wanted it so that new students come in July. I said that earlier there were three groups from 2010 to 2012 who are supposed to join in July and that is even a big problem. But the university will be opened and indeed we have delayed and we are not comfortable with this situation.” Minister Nyaba urged people still staying within the university premises to leave and allow room for renovation. He appealed to the students to disassociate themselves from tribal organizations saying they discourage unity.
