Refugees in South Sudan is “full-blown” humanitarian crisis

An international humanitarian organization, Save the Children, said on Monday that the refugee crisis in the border region between Sudan and South Sudan is now a full blown humanitarian crisis. The charity said fighting between the Khartoum government and rebels of the SPLM-North in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states has led to a huge influx of refugees, with about 2,000 children arriving daily at crowded camps in South Sudan. Most of the refugees walk for days to reach the camps, said the Save the Children's South Sudan Country Director, Jon Cunliffe. He told Radio Miraya that the current rainy season makes it almost impossible for aid agencies to access the camps to provide the badly needed aid. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
