WAU, 23 July 2012 [Gurtong] – The State Governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan
congratulated the new appointees and urged them to work together.
The Governor commended the Assembly for passing the new cabinet unanimously.

He also heaped praises on the outgoing cabinet for serving well since
the 2010 general elections.

Hassan assured the head of political parties that his government will
carry out consultations with the national government in appointing a
minister to represent other parties in the state.
He told the ceremony that the appointments were made based on quality
to create and deliver service and development to the citizens.
The Governor called on the new ministers to promote the rule of law.
On behalf of the new appointed ministers, the Minister of Information
and Culture Derik Alfred Uya thanked the Governor for trusting them
and pledged to work as a team.

Uya vowed to transform Western Bahr el Ghazal State to be the best in
South Sudan through good governance.

In an effort to transfer services closer to the rural areas, the
Governor urged the Jur River and Wau counties to establish their
headquarters outside the state capital Wau.

Jur River and Wau counties headquarters are still in the state capital.
The swearing in ceremony was attended by Speaker Andrea Mayar Acho,
High Court President Isaac Kur Majak and other key leaders in the
