Western Equatoria State (WES) on Monday unveiled a new tax on business
vehicles in order to fill the financial gap created by the austerity
measures.

The new tax for all categories of vehicles, ranges from 200 to 2,200
South Sudanese pounds, payable every three months.

The WES minister of Finance, John Russie, told Radio Miraya that the
tax will supplement the state's revenues.

However, a member of the Transport Business Community in the state,
Richard Batista, said the tax rate was too high.
