Leaves Bookshop, South Sudan hosts its first book signing event

Dear friends and colleagues,

Leaves Bookshop will be hosting its first book signing event this
Saturday 27th October. You are cordially invited to join us any time
between 12:30pm and 5:30pm to meet author Philip Winter and get your
copy of A Sacred Cause.

A Sacred Cause may interest those of you who have been watching South
Sudan's exhausting travels between war and peace and the negotiation
processes which have helped to bring the nation to where it is today.

In March 2000, Philip Winter was approached to act as Chef de Cabinet
to the ex-President of Botswana, Sir Ketumile Masire, who had been
selected to chair and facilitate the talks between the three main
warring parties in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The long and
complicated discussions which followed turned into a negotiating
marathon lasting over three years and culminating in a signed
agreement in April 2003.

The author was the Manager of Juba Boatyard in South Sudan before the
war and also worked here during the war under Operation Lifeline
Sudan. He is now Juba Representative of the diplomatic advisory group,
Independent Diplomat.

Leaves also invites you to browse Juba's widest collection of
affordable used and new books and enjoy your Saturday afternoon
together with friends of Leaves.

If you come early enough you'll also get to enjoy a few snacks and
treats provided by Leaves. :)

Please extend this invitation to family and friends. Children are also
welcome to visit Baobab Corner where we have a great range of
subsidised books for children and young adults.

If you love books we guarantee you won't be disappointed at Leaves
Bookshop, Juba, South Sudan. Leaves is based at The ROOTS Project,
Nimra Talata. Please see the attached map for directions.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Best regards,

Awak
