The head of UN Refugee Agency – UNHCR - is in South Sudan. Antonio
Guterres flew into the country Wednesday afternoon for a three day
visit, to assess the progress of UNHCR's humanitarian response.

UNHCR Senior Spokesperson, Melita Sunjic, told Radio Miraya that
Guterres is due to visit a refugee camp and meet with President Kiir
and officials from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

She explained that the high commissioner's trip is a follow-up on a
similar trip he made in January.

'Nearly a year later, the High Commissioner is coming back to see the
progress and he will see that there are refugee camps, that there are
settlements, that the supply chain is working and that the nutritional
status and the health status of these refugees has largely improved.
What is also more important, is that we are expecting a new influx and
we are well prepared this year, because this year we know already the
patterns of movement and dangers in the countries of origin so we
could preposition goods and we could prepare ourselves to receive
those new refugees"
