TORIT, 26 November 2012 [Gurtong] – The government spokesperson,
Felix Otuduha Siro said the purpose is to keep important information
for the state government and provide updates to the public in form of
news bulletins.

He revealed the website will undergo the design work and is expected
to be launched in the coming months.

The prime objective is to include the entire minister’s and ministries
profiles and will be accessible and open to the public and provide
news and information about present and upcoming events.

“We hope as the government of the state, this website will provide
our public a tool they need to discover like essential information
they are looking for. We will continue to improve the content and
access of information to the public accordingly,” he said.

He said the site shall be monitored and run by his ministry in close
collaboration with the state secretariat.

Meanwhile, Lopit Community from Lopa and Lafon County in Eastern
Equatoria State has appealed to the telecommunications companies set
up telephone boosters to enhance communication services in their
territory.

They say the whole county has never had any telephone communication
services because of no single company have delivered services to the
area since the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2005.

The community says that because of this problem, businesspersons, Non
Governmental Organizations and government employees have become
reluctant visiting the area to provide other needed services to
inhabitants.

Hon. Severino Maira Janus representing Constituency No. 5, Lopit
North at the state parliament informed the state assembly that Lopa
and Lafon County is the only county in Eastern Equatoria State in
particular and in the Republic of South Sudan in general which is
disconnected from the state headquarters, national capital and the
outside world in terms of communication.
