A delegation from Ethiopia and officials of the Catholic diocese of
Torit shared experiences on service delivery under Caritas, the
Catholic Church charity arm.

Executive Director of Hararge Catholic Secretariat, Bekele Moges, told
Radio Emmanuel that Caritas Ethiopia shared its experience of over 30
years of operation with the Catholic Diocese of Torit.

Mr Bekele, who leads the team of three officials from Caritas
Ethiopia, stresses that the Catholic Diocese of Torit had almost
similar structures.

He added that Caritas Ethiopia passed through a number of challenges
and they shared the steps taken to find solutions.

The deputy Executive and Program Director for Executive Director of
Hararge Catholic Secretariat, Belaynchi Belete, said the Catholic
Diocese of Torit faced many challenges ahead following the two decades
war.

He asserted that the economic damage and destruction of infrastructure
by the war left people longing for services.

Mr Belete encouraged the Catholic Diocese of Torit to work hard and
strengthen itself to provide services to improve the livelihood of the
people.

The two-day experience sharing between the delegation of Caritas
Ethiopia and the Catholic Diocese of Torit was organized to prepare
the launch of Caritas Torit on Thursday.
