JUBA, 07 March 2013 [Gurtong] – Addressing the media the SPLM
Secretary General Pagan Amum said the historic meeting will be
focusing on the party’s manifesto, constitution, rules, regulations,
and code of conduct.

“After this major battle of achieving the independence of South Sudan,
it is important that we reorganize ourselves to begin the new journey
for the struggle. To adopt ourselves to the new reality that South
Sudan is an independent country and we need to re-articulate our
vision” Pagan said.

“The SPLM leadership in the National Liberation Council took the
decision, that we go through a review of our documents and
re-articulate the vision and mission on how we conduct our internal
business and unit ourselves around our constitution and vision,” he
said.

The SPLM as a political movement led the struggle for the independence
of South Sudan a fact which can never be disputed.
