JUBA, 24 April 2013 [Gurtong] – A student of the University of Juba
identified as Alex Bojo was reported to have been killed
yester-morning by unknown assailants along the Juba-Kajokeji road.

South Sudan Police Spokesperson Col. James Monday said: β€œOn Tuesday,
23 April, a group of gangs attacked two motor riders, killing one of
them and robbed the motorcycle on Juba-Kajokeji Road.”

This incident marks as part of several others this week happening
along roads linking Juba to either counties within the state or to
other states.

On Sunday five people were confirmed killed by goons along the
Juba-Torit and Juba-Nimule road in separate incidences.

This scale of occurrences mark recent rise of insecurity within and
around Juba capital which the Interior Ministry said had subsided
compared to previous years.

Enocka further explained that, due to join security operation patrol
in the city especially at night, goons are finding it challenging to
operate thus moving to the outskirts of the capital.

He said authorities have stepped up joint operation combining of all
police, army and security operatives patrolling at night in the city.
