Security Still Unstable In Uror County: Commissioner
Uror County Commissioner, Simon Hoth Duol has said that the security situation in his county is unstable as it has been destabilized by the criminals who are part of rebel leader David Yau Yau. 28 April 2013 By Jacob Achiek Jok BOR, 27 April 2013 [Gurtong] –Dual said that criminals leave the fight with Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) and destabilize disarmed communities every time. Speaking to Gurtong after a five-day commissioners’ workshop, Dual said that his county recorded 21 cases of cattle raiding and killing since January. “As recently they escorted one lady with cattle and killed her, you see this is what is happening actually, they are not yet stopping their activities,” said the Commissioner. He said that the fight was mobilized by someone who just wanted to overthrow the government according to the analysis of rebel Yau Yau himself with support from their previous enemy in Sudan. “There is no any other criminals who are killing people every times than them loyalties of Yau Yau,” he said. Commissioner said that the only way which they can stop such criminals’ activities which are taking place in the counties is by eliminating Yau Yau and his people so that criminals will not temper again with security of the state. He said that Yau Yau groups are not destabilizing Uror County alone as they have been disturbing the counties bordering Pibor. He said that those who did not support Yau Yau in Pibor county got killed by his group and that shows that they are not friends to everybody. “So what do they really revenge for, we don’t know actually we make sure that SPLA has to trace those criminals so that people live in peace,” said Dual. He said that in reality, wrong elements within that community are everywhere so they cannot say that they are free for good, some element are still with them which needs them to deal with them until they have to comply with the law of South Sudan. He said that every person who has a gun for destabilizing the people make Non Governmental Organization (NGOs) or humanitarian people who want to invest in the areas to fear because there is no peace. He said that it is their tasks as government of Jonglei state to reduce insecurity for the services to reach people.
