NUBA CITIZENS WARNED OVER SUDANESE CURRENCY CHANGE Saturday, 27 April 2013 13:56 |
Nuba Mountains citizens were warned about the eminent change of Sudanese Pounds into Dinars as the legal currency in the Sudan. Yousif Mohammed Alfaki, who heads the Civil Council, said the money of the National Congress Party of NCP might change soon. He asked people to follow the advice of the ministry of economy when the change of currency is announced. Mr Mohammed explained that it was the policy of the NCP to undermine the economy of Nuba Mountains. He added that there was no clear information about the change of currency but people should be aware of it. Mr Mohammed said Nuba Mountains citizens have over 18 million old Sudanese pounds pending after Sudan and South Sudan changed their currencies in 2011. The Executive Director urged people to keep South Sudanese pounds rather than Sudanese pounds since Khartoum may be introducing the Dinar in May or June. Mr Mohammed revealed that the change from Sudanese Pounds to Dinars was part of the economic war the ruling party was conducting to undermine and deprive the people living in SPLM-N controlled areas. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
