Twenty correction officers attended a human right workshop organized
by United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS in Tombura County.

UNMISS Human Rights Officer James Fandasi told Radio Amisa that the
workshop was organized to train the correctional officers and ensure
full protection and promotion of human right in the prisons of Tombura
County.

He added that their objective was to develop international standard of
rules and regulations on the protection of inmates.

Mr Fandasi stated that the workshop was part of UNMISS’ mandate to
build workforce capacity in South Sudan.

Tombura Commissioner Babiro Charles Gbamisi thanked UNMISS.

He urged the participants to implement the new skills acquired during
the two-day workshop.
