Thieves on Sunday night attacked and raped one woman in the compound
of a small Italian medical organization called CCM in Tonj South
County, Warrap State.

South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission County Secretary,
Gordon Makuer, told Don Bosco Radio that 12 armed thieves broke into
CCM compound around 10:00 PM, raped one worker, and stole four
computers, 500 US dollars, two phones and one camera.

He said the woman who was raped was a Kenyan national working for CCM.

Mr Makuer said the woman was tied and blindfolded with another worker
during the attack but were separated during the rape.

He explained that the watchman at the CCM compound was threatened not
to call for help or he would be shot.

Mr Makuer said when the attackers fled the compound the watchman ran
to the Himango NGO compound to get help.

He added that the raped woman was taken to the hospital, then to the
police station and finally flown to Nairobi.

The secretary said the attackers contacted him on one of the stolen
phones and said they would be back.

Police are now patrolling the CCM compound.
