SOLDIERS KILL CIVILIANS, LOOT NGOS IN PIBOR Monday, 13 May 2013 14:40 | A number of soldiers went on rampage during the weekend in Pibor, Jonglei State, killing civilians and looting humanitarian organizations.
INTERSOS-Pibor Child Protection Project Manager Rugbua Justin Filbert told CRN that NGOs pulled out their staff from Pibor on Friday due to insecurity. He said soldiers were killing innocent civilians who fled the town. The officer confirmed that soldiers looted MSF, INTERSOS and World Food Program compounds in Pibor. Mr Justin said an army commander told some officials in Pibor that the soldiers were getting food and money, but some were misbehaving. He said he was ready to return to Pibor as soon as it was safe to resume their programmes.
