TORIT, 19 May 2013 [Gurtong] – The Minister says the exercise has been
stopped following a number of factors hindering it as she cites heavy
rain fall, lack of resources like financial and material logistics.

She discloses some counties like Kapoeta East, and parts of Budi and
Lafon/Lopa are not accessible during the ongoing rainy season and they
will be suitable for the exercise only when another dry season comes.

Attributing to dry season and convenience, the Minister confirms the
completion of the exercise in two counties of Kapoeta North and South.

“We really want to establish which facilities are available and
functioning or not so we are able to determine scientifically,” Dr.
Itto expressed to Gurtong in Torit town.

The Minister reveals that counties which her Ministry authorities
shall first begin with the exercise when the next dry season comes
will include Torit, Magwi and Ikwoto before the start with the three
Counties of Kapoeta East, Budi and Lafon/Lopa which have proven
difficult to conduct the exercise during the continuing rain season.

She discloses that the exercise targets all heath institutions in the
state considering quality and human capacity’s height with
qualifications plus specifications in the state adding that this once
completed shall help her ministry collect vital records which shall in
turn help in planning and allocation of resources.

Last month, officials announced the broad mapping of all health
institutions by authorities from Health in Eastern Equatoria was
formerly underway.

The exercise targeting all heath institutions inclusive of quality and
human capacity height considering qualifications and specifications in
the state shall help the ministry collect vital records which shall in
turn help in planning and allocation of resources.

These include the enhancement of improved service delivery and
identification of gaps will also help the ministry to embark on
trainings so to further improve in performance.

In January, the Ministry unveiled plans to map all its heath
institutions to help the ministry collect essential database for
planning and allocation of resources to enable better service
delivery.

Earlier on, the exercise was to take place between November 2012 and
January 2013 to avoid the inconvenience of the rainy season.
