11,000 PIBOR DISPLACED SEEK REFUGE IN JUBA

About 11,000 people displaced by ongoing insecurity in Jonglei State
are seeking safety in Juba.

The displaced communities reported that they fled ongoing hostilities
in Pibor County, particularly since January, but the biggest group
arrived in March, UNOCHA said.

Hostilities involving military and rebels destroyed civilian property,
houses and other structures.

Last week, armed, uniformed personnel cut open common humanitarian
storage facilities in Pibor and stole food and non-food items,
including nutritional supplements for malnourished children.

Compounds and storage facilities of aid organizations were also looted.

People travel from Pibor to Juba sporadically and not as family units
or community groupings resulting in separation of families.
