GREATER BAHR EL GHAZAL CONFERENCE KICKS OFF Friday, 17 May 2013 14:47 | Heads of states from the Greater Bahr El Ghazal on Wednesday started a six-day conference in Wau to look at the issues affecting the entire region.
The conference theme is “Striving to promote peaceful co-existence in the region and the nation around the common goals of unity and development”, Voice of Hope reported. National Legislative Assembly speaker James Wani Igga chairs the conference. Western Bahr El Ghazal Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan said one of the biggest challenges is the huge number of street children in cities and towns in the region. He said the conference has to pay attention and find immediate short and long term solutions to the street children issue. Mr Zachariah said most children who come to the streets belong to the four states and that most of them missed school. He called on all the governors from the four states of Greater Bahr El Ghazal to bare the post-war effect and find a solution to these social problems of street children. The conference is expected to handle ten top points, including cattle raids and unity of the region. < Prev Next > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
