CONSTITUTION REVIEW COMMISSION PRESENTS STRATEGIC PLAN Friday, 17 May 2013 15:08 | The National Constitutional Review Commission on Friday presented its strategic action plan to the international community in Juba.
Chairman Akolda Man Tier said after the extension of the mandate, the Commission developed a plan from May 2013 to August 2014. He said the plan envisions an extensive civic education campaign from June to August 2013 and a public consultation campaign from October to December 2013. Professor Tier said civic education in South Sudan encounters many obstacles including rain, insecurity, high illiteracy and language barriers. He said the barriers need to be considered and the Kenyan experience can be of help. Constitutional Review Commission General-Secretary John Natana Abraham appealed to the international community to support the review process within the allocated time frame. He said the austerity budget is still limiting financial resources. The event that was sponsored by IFES South Sudan brought together participants from UNMISS, diplomatic missions and international NGOs. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
