 Thursday, 30 May 2013 14:46 |
Yei County Cooperative and Rural Development Department on Thursday
reopened after renovating the office built 1991.

Cooperative Chairman Ramadan Santino said the reopening of the office
aimed to promote, unite, improve skills and supply the inputs of
farmers’ produces, Easter Radio reported.

He said since the opening of cooperative office in 2011, it did not
implement any objective due to lack of money, transport and skilled
personnel.

Central Equatorial Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development
Michael Tongun said he was opening cooperative union offices in
Lainya, Yei and Morobo counties.

He added that opening the cooperatives was a symbolic step in
empowering the people of the state in order to be food secure by 2014.

Mr Tongun said another purpose to open the cooperative union was to
have a state Cooperative Bank that will facilitate union activities
for a hungry free country.
