July 8, 2013 *Why WCI?* Because Peris roused herself from slum-induced misery, joined Baraka Women's Center Entrepreneur and Leadership Program and is creating *Shiro's Joyful Sweety Fruit Company*, a mango wholesaling business, where I personally would buy her goods just to enjoy her sign on the wall. Because Grace, an HIV-positive mother of five, says that from the time she joined Baraka Center, she lost her stigma and is happy to be among women who "care for me." Because Ann grew up in a family where "there was no peace." She dropped out of school after only one year to work as house help, and then decided to eke out a life on her own. She joined the Literacy Program at Baraka Women's Center. "I am proud," she says. "Today I can read and write."**** Because 460 other women and their children, dealt some of the worst hands in life, are coming to Baraka Women's Center to reclaim their dreams of a persperous future. *Why You?* Because you know me, a woman fully on her mission.
