*RUMBEK, October 4, 2013 (Gurtong) -* Nyandeng Malek Delic removed her long
serving minister unexpectedly over corruption allegations as the governor
Akoc of misappropriating public funds.

The governor circulated the order to all spending agencies and heads of
institutions, barring Mangar from signing off any further government
spending or financial documents.

The state Education Minister, Andrea Aguer acts as the Finance Minister
until further notice. “We are fully supporting your decision of releasing
Mr. Acuil Akoc. We believe a woman rule in Republic of South Sudan is a
matter of greatness as you are the first elected female governor in the
country,” he said.

The community leaders say the Nyang-Akoc community of Pagol payam
appreciates the recent change which is in line with the president’s call
for zero tolerance on corruption.

The document also called upon Governor Nyandeng to extent development and
select people with integrity to serve in state government for urgent
development of road connectivity.

“Your next government will represent valuable leaders with integrity who
can accomplish your desires and all projects in the state to complete
outstanding developmental projects starting with Tonj, Thiet and
Pagol-Luanjaker roads,” adds the letter.
