*BOR, 05 December 2013 [Gurtong] –* The guard from the Korean Child Fund
was injured by unknown people suspected to be thieves within the state
capital.

Source say the thieves pointed the gun at the Tai Kondo master and pointed
a flash light towards his eyes and he could not see when they started
beating him on the head.

In the statement, one person was injured and several windows were broken
after thieves tried to get into the office to steal the office furniture
six days ago.

The state government police personnel with some Korean security personnel
immediately intervened and rescued the situation.

Hana Kim, the area office manager for Child Fund in Bor confirmed the
incident saying that she heard a screaming sound coming from the security
guard office.

β€œAt about 2am I heard a screaming from the security guard office then we
had two South Sudanese staying with us in the compound and then one them
screaming asking for help, then I saw some flash lights going through our
windows and then I sensed that the thieves are trying to find somebody
inside,” she explained to a local radio in Bor.

She said that she called the Korean soldiers and the thieves took off after
the team arrived only leaving behind some tools.

Hana says the wounded person has been taken to the Korean camp by the
Korean security personnel and state police for safety.

The human resource officer Alier Maketh calls for intervention by the
concerned authority in order to avoid such situations in the state.

Alier says the criminals were not identified as the guard was scared but
just knows that they were about 15 in number in which some of them had guns.

Two weeks ago, armed criminals broke into Catholic Relief Service (CRS)
compound in Bor and stole a number of laptop computers and some other
unnamed items.
