*BENTIU, 18 December 2013 (Gurtong) -* “The Council of Ministers of Unity
State has absolutely condemned the act of those perpetrators and called on
the Government of the Republic of South Sudan to bring them to the book,”
said the Acting Governor of Unity State Col. Mabek Lang Mading.

He adviced fellow citizens and the entire community in Unity State to stand
firm against those individuals who are after disunity of the Southerners,
and refrain from wrong rumors and propaganda spread by those perpetrators
because the events is national issue not the Dinka –Nuer problem as people
from both sides are taking it.

“The Council of Ministers of Unity State has declared its positions by
condemning the behaviors and meaningless thought that led to a serious
destruction and loss of human lives caused by those who are against the
unity of our people,” Lang added.

But in the streets of Bentiu and homes, people are mourning their loved
ones who lost their life during the three days of fighting of the attempted
coup in Juba.

The State police Commissioner Maj. General James Biel Ruot said “what
happened in Juba was not tribal but misunderstanding from the ruling party,
SPLM, with their supporters in the military and we have nothing that
concern us….each and every one of us must respect the laws or else the laws
will deal with.”

Although there is no clear identity of those killed, many families received
the news of their loves ones killed in the process and many of whom are
students and top former State government officials.

Yesterday, the State Security Advisors received information that armed
civilians from Mayom County gathered themselves and heading to Warrap State
to raid cattle.

The Caretaker of Unity State has also confirmed the death of his three
bodyguards.
