*TORIT, 07 February 2014 [Gurtong] -*The evacuation was executed by the
three governments of Central, Western and Eastern Equatoria states.

The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State Louis Lobong Lojore on Wednesday
told members of parliament that the IDPs already in his state comprise of
women and children whose husbands have remained in the battle fields to
defend the nation against the Dr. Riek Machar led rebellion.

Many of them have voluntarily been reintegrated into their communities.

The state officials say the three Equatorian governments in collaboration
with the national government have been helping to facilitate transportation
of similar vulnerable groups from the conflict regions of Upper Nile and
Jonglei states for safety.

Gurtong paid a visit to more than 250 families at a 'way station' within
Torit Technical. The group who arrived on Wednesday in two convoys from
Juba expressed gratitude to the government for ensuring their safe arrival
from the conflict zones in Unity state.

Humanitarian Agencies are expected to reach them with support with both
food and non food items. Already South Sudan Red Cross has pledged to
distribute non food items, a move the state authorities strongly welcome.
