*JUBA, 08 February 2014 [Gurtong] - *Speaking to Gurtong, the commissioner
of Bor County, Agot Alier Leek describe the attack as criminal and pledged
to establish a body to investigate the whereabouts of the attackers.

"We will establish the facts about where the attackers belong to and who
organised them to attack the people here," said Agot.

Agot urged the youth to immediately intervene and boost the security
situation in their county.

A Member of Parliament (MP) in the area Philip Thon Nyok[ said among dead,
19 were women, nine men and 11 children were abducted as three women are
still missing.

The MP blamed the attack on the Murle militia. "The attackers were Murle
and not rebel forces of Riek Machar," he retorted.

Another area MP Mayom Ngong on Friday however said there is an improving
relation with David Yau Yau, the leader of the Murle Militia group also
known as South Sudan Democratic Movement/Army (SSDM/A).

The Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) commander Lt. General Malual Ayom
Door condemned the massive killing of people in Kolnyang, a Payam located
in south of Bor County.

Speaking at a mass burial in Kolnyang on Friday, Malual told the public
they are shocked when most of them saw civilian bodies lying on the ground
in Kolnyang Payam.

"This was an organised attack," he retorted. "Look at the way they
surrounded the village, this was a massacre, it is a complete breach of
civilians protection law in the country and now the SPLA will do anything
to protect you and your property."

Early this year, the community chiefs called for proper protection of
civilians in the five payams of Bor County and Gen. Ayom admitted the delay
in deploying government armed forces to the area could have made the attack
easy.

A well known traditional doctor who fixed broken bones in Greater Bor, Akol
Bol Angok and his wife were among those killed in cool blood. A man called
Makech Macthuy Bol was killed together with his wife and their four
children were abducted.

Deng Mach Bol, a local chief in Kolnyang Payam who also witnessed the
recent attack blamed Murle for the mass killing in Kolnyang. He said those
who abduct children in Jonglei state are Murle but not Nuer ethnic
community. Abduction he said is a culture of Murle community for them to
generate income.

The high delegation from Bor County visited Kolnyang payam to witness the
massive killing of civilians. The committee comprised of MPs Mayom Ngong
who represents Kolnyang Payam, Alier Malet Apat, MP of Baidit Payam, Philip
Thon Nyok representing Bor town, the Commissioner of Bor County Agot Alier
