*Western Bahr El Ghazal Finance minister attributed delay of January
salaries in the state to Mid December unrest that started in Juba and
spread to other parts of the country.*

Lilian Valentino Rizik told the press that the ministry was not getting
enough resources as insecurity that hindered revenue collection to cover
salaries, Voice Hope reported.

She added that oil wells in Unity were not operational to generate money
and that the state needs 940 billion South Sudanese Pounds to get out of
the austerity measures.

Ms Valentino said the ministry planned this year to give line ministries
hundred percent operation costs.

She said the government was concerned of security so that officials can
carry on their duties.

The Minister Lilian explained that payment will begin with organized forces
with three months bonus through a committee as directed by the president.

She appreciated the army and organized forces for the good work done during
December's incident that claimed many lives and displaced many others.
