January 6, 2015 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s national elections commission
has urged media houses in the country to effectively inform citizens
about the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

The electoral body, in a press release extended to Sudan Tribune, said
the country’s first post-independence will held on 30 June.

“The commission has been deliberating on the processes of the election
in 2015 as stated in the constitution and National elections Act
2012,” partly reads the statement.

The vote, the commission said, will be conducted in accordance with
section 15 (I) of the country’s National Elections Act 2012.

The electoral body cited several challenges it faces, urging
government to provide basic needs required to aid the electoral
process.

“All public is to be informed that elections is the only way for
getting into power”, stressed the electoral commission’s statement.

The government of South Sudan has approved a $517 million for general elections.

Kiir mayardit is in a state of desperate mode to legitimaze
itself. Holding an election in June 2015 while the country in s whole
mess is a complete disgrace . People needs humanitarian assistance
rather than spending money on an illegal election. Both salva Kiir and
Riek Machar are the worse leaders South Sudan has ever produced . ...
SS needs a new blood period.

South Sudan needs a new leader apart from Sallva Kiir, Riek
Machar and all bunch of yes sir who had failed SS in the last eight
years. SS youths need to come together regardless of tribal
affiliation and support a new leader noncorrupt and non tribalist .
That mean no support for salva Kiir, Riek machar, wani igga, and
bunches of idiot who have failed us in the last 8years in office.

A Man with out a ballot is like a man with out a protection.
Hence the ballot is stronger then the bullet. Politicians, Opposition
and rebel groups who are not ready for elections now should know that
the political process does not end on election day only. The can
continues with their politics until the next round of election come.

How will an election legitimize any following government
if carried out in the present crisis?

How will IDPs in camps vote?

Many others in conflict areas will be unable to vote.

In many areas there is a history of voter intimidation and
rigging of election results to keep thoise in power who are already in
power.

Look at what happened in NBEG only last week!

Calling for elections in June 2015 is tantamount to perpetuating
illegitimacy by Kiir and cohorts; this call must be shunned by all and
sundries!
