May 25, 2015 (JUBA) – The South Sudanese army (SPLA) has vowed to
disarm all government-turned rebel fighters after they regained full
control of Malakal, the Upper Nile state capital on Monday.

The country’s defence minister, Kuol Manyang Juuk told reporters in
Juba that the army was moving to clear the young nation of rebels.

“We [SPLA] captured Malakal this morning,” the minister told reporters
shortly after he was summoned by the council of states.

“We have to disarm those who took up guns because if they opted to
take up guns, then we must meet them with guns,” he added.

Malakal fell under forces loyal to Johnson Olony, a militia commander
affiliated to the Juba government last week. Olony’s forces later
advanced towards the country’s main oilfields of Paloch, capturing
Melut, a town located about 30 km from the oil territory.

The army has now regained full control Melut after flashing out rebels.

The defence minister, however, described the continued fighting in
Unity, Upper Nile and Jonglei states as the “work of negative forces.”

“We will move on them wherever they go and clear the country from the
armed groups. We will do so everywhere,” stressed Juuk.

“We will move everywhere and disarm everybody who is carrying guns.
Whether it is organized or unorganized [forces], anybody carrying guns
unlawfully, we will take these guns,” he added.

The African Union condemned renewed clashes between the warring
factions, calling for sanctions on those obstructing peace talks and
an arms embargo on South Sudan.

Where have you been Kuol Manyang when your soldiers were
chased from Malakal last week? Do you think disarming rebels is like
eating kisira? No, you are wrong. Soon Malakal will be recaptured from
you. Paloch will soon be closed down. Malong’s 30 days of promise to
Nyankiir to end rebellion when he was appointed has turned into more
than one year now and counting. Accept peace as a solution, dude.

I don’t understand why it is now bitter for the government to
taste its own guns that it voluntarily gave out to the citizens.

Tribes have been armed by Juba to kill each other and now the
magic has turned against the magician. The truth is even as government
forces entered Malakal they were accompanied by couple of Dinka
militias. These ones who is going to disarm them?

            Kuol Manyang
Disarmament? How are you going to do it in this large area
if you couldn’t do it Jonglei when you were governor. What you are
saying is what Khartoum use to say during the liberation war.
Impossible task, think about ways of finding peace.

How long will it take Dinka Kingdom to disarm the Mighty Nuer
Warriors (MNW)?

        Kim the Rebel;
You don’t have any clue! The disarmament had just happened in
Malut and Malakal and now you have to be on the run until you give up
to be disarmed or ends up dead. Those are the two options either or be
dead! The question is which option is suitable to you?

        Kim
The disarmament already started in Malut and Malakal; you
either give up and come crawling to the government or ends up dead.
Those are the two options pick one!

Nobody was disarmed in Melut, don’t lie. The freedom
fighters captured it and took all you weapons from it that Tuesday and
Wednesday. That is the real disarmament. Also your gunship was shot
down and pilot killed. That is the real disarmament.

you rebels are dying and confused what to do ,you were
better not to attack gov’t position, or join your operation with
Oliny, it is really disaster ,cause by your wrong assumption. no way

                Midit;
Didn’t you left all the weapons that the government
gave you behind after SPLA forces captured those towns. Olony never
capture any weapons; Olony was with government and turned rebel within
Malakal. He didn’t fight to capture Malakal from the government
therefore get your facts right.
