By Daniel Angok JUBA, 31 May 2015 [Gurtong] –The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) has called on SPLM Juba and SPLM IO to engage in talks that would see an end to the hostilities in the country. CEPO Executive Director Edmund Yakani urged the two groups to act in line with the anticipated 25th African Union Head of States Summit which will take place between 7th and 15th June 2015. “ The cessation of hostilities will be good news for the innocent civilians of South Sudan who are losing lives on daily basis and continue suffering from humanitarian crisis and displacement”, Yakani said in a statement sent to newsrooms. There have been concerted efforts to bring peace to South Sudan following the breakout of violence in late 2013. The Presidential spokesperson Ateny Wek Ateny has said the South Sudan peace negotiation will resume on 8 June 2015. His statement came after foreign ministers from Kenya and Ethiopia paid a consultative visit to South Sudan on Wednesday.
