*JUBA, 06 June 2015 [Gurtong] –* Upper Nile State Governor Simon Kun Puoc
who visited areas bordering Sudan last Sunday encouraged the residents to
embrace peace, saying they depended on each other in several ways.

“It is our duty as a neighbouring state to protect and monitor bilateral
relations with Sudan,” he said.

The Governor visited Renk County in the far northeastern part of the state,
conducting several rallies in Renk Town and Wunthou/Joda in the border
areas with Sudan.

The State Minister for Information Peter Hoth Tuach revealed that Governor
Puoc toured various government institutions in Renk town including Renk
Civil Hospital, the Prison Service, Fire Brigade and Police service
headquarters in Renk Town.

“The Governor also toured the SPLA Division 1 headquarters in Renk as well
as addressing a public rally at Renk football stadium”, he said.

On Wednesday, the Governor travelled to the border town of Wunthou where he
met several chiefs and traditional local leaders.
