Audit Unearths Financial Mismanagement in NBGS Most ministries in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State have failed to account for funds in the 2014/2015 financial year. 08 June 2015
By Agoth Abraham * AWEIL, 07 June 2015 (Gurtong)* - An audit committee has also discovered discrepancies in spending in a number of public institutions in the state. A four-member audit committee that was formed by the state legislators to assess the utilisation of the over 200 billion South Sudanese Pounds reported the discrepancies last Tuesday. Among the institutions mentioned in the report are the State Governor’s office, the State Finance Ministry and the State Secretariat for the Council of Ministers. A member of the committee Garang Zacharia told the press in Aweil town that their findings showed that most of the institutions failed to abide by their respective budgets. “Other issues the committee discovered were the mismanagement of local revenues where money collected was embezzled by certain officials”, he said. He revealed that the State Assembly will summon a number of individuals mentioned over misappropriation of funds, saying both public officials and ordinary citizens will be subjected to the scrutiny on equal grounds. ------------------------------ [image: Bookmark and Share] <https://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php?v=250&pub=xa-4a8952f0662ccc6f> -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
