AWEIL, June 19, 2015 [Gurtong]- Lual was summoned by lawmakers in late
May to answer to allegations related to misappropriations of
institutional funds and was given two weeks to prepare and defend
himself before the legislators.

The minister appeared on the first week of June but was told to go
back due to incomplete reports that he presented.

On Wednesday this week, Lual appeared before the assembly where his
agenda was deliberated on for more than three hours, with a resolution
of clearing him off from corruption allegations.

After the debate the Chairperson for the Agricultural Committee in the
State Legislative Assembly, Hon. Aguer Wol Aguer confirmed to the
public that the minister was falsely accused.

“The assembly has today confirmed that the reports of the hon.
Minister of Agriculture are satisfactory and sufficient enough based
on analysis carried out by the August house. We have also confirmed
that the reports are rated to be 90%.”

The Agriculture Minister in response to the rating and feedback from
the legislators appreciated the Assembly for their mandate and good
cooperation.

The legislators accused Lual of having loaned out over 890,000 liters
of fuel for his personal use and the disappearance of over 100,000 SSP
at his Ministry.

Lual Marach was given two weeks to report back to the August House
with a clear strategy on how the over 800 litres of fuel will be paid
for and the missing 100,000SSP accounted for, failure of which he may
face a vote of no confidence.
