Amum’s return followed a series of talks between the party’s top
leaders and the former political detainees, with the involvement of
high profile African officials from Tanzania and South Africa. Former
cabinet affairs minister, Deng Alor Kuol led the team to Juba.
The former secretary general was accompanied by the Kenyan defence
minister, after which he held meetings with senior SPLM members,
including president Salva Kiir.
Sudan Tribune was unable to immediately establish what the leaders had
discussed at the meeting, although sources privy to what transpired
intimated that the leaders were keen to discuss the re-instatement of
Amum to his former position secretary general.
Other sources said the party endosed the decision to revoke the
dismissal of some o its senior members, including former vice
president, Riek Machar and have them reinstated.
Akol Paul Kordit, spokesperson of the members of the SPLM allied to
president Kiir in Arusha reunification process, said the NLC will
convene a special submit to discuss the necessity to cancel previous
decisions taken at height of conflict in 2013 and make correction in
accordance with the Arusha reunification agreement.
He said Machar will be reinstated to his previous position as the
first deputy chairperson in the party and Taban Deng Gai returning to
his membership at the political bureau and Alfred Lado Gore as member
of the NLC. Other members will return to their ranks in the party.
“This meeting of the National Liberation Council is going to discuss
important issues. It will discuss the issue of reorganization of the
SPLM. It is going to address critical organizational issues pertaining
to the implementation of Arusha agreement,” Kordit told reporters on
Tuesday at SPLM house.

My sister Dr. Ann Itto may be preparing to pave way for Pagan to
resume his seat. The fight for seat within this monstrous party has
claimed thousands of lives in South Sudan. Cry the beloved country!

For few U$ and party seat Pagan Amum may betray and kill his own
parents. Obviously Garang’s orphans lack values and ethics. Lol
