June 25, 2015 (JUBA) - The office of South Sudanese vice-president
James Wani Igga on Thursday refuted reports he had accepted to step
aside to allow the armed opposition leader, Riek Machar, take over as
first vice president in accordance with a would-be peace agreement.

Media reports last week indicated the desire of Igga to step aside in
the interest of peace and stability in the country as a way to stop
the ongoing conflict. Many commentators hailed his decision,
describing him as peacemaker.
But his office’s press secretary, David Mayen Ayarbio, quoted Igga on
Thursday in a released statement saying the vice-president was quoted
out of context. Igga through his press secretary said he was
misrepresented, adding he will not agree to the position of first vice
president for Machar.
“The vice-president did not say he will step aside for Riek Machar. He
has been quoted out of context. Appointment of the vice president is
the prerogative of the president and it will be the president to
decide whom he wants as the vice president. It cannot be speculated
and made a subject of discussion,” he said.
The official explained that the people of South Sudan and the
president knew what Igga was capable of doing and in what position and
capacity he would fit.
"Our people and the president know that the current vice president is
one of the leaders who have never let them [down] and will never ever
let them [down],” he claimed.
He said people needed peace and this was the reason the government had
given peace a priority and place the search for it above anything else
in our programs.
East African regional block, IGAD, which has been mediating the peace
talks between president Kiir’s government and the armed opposition
leader, Riek Machar, proposed that president Kiir should continue to
leader a transitional period of 3 years and Machar becomes first
vice-president.

Riek is not coming back to take your position sir, he will be
given the position parliamentary speaker. Magook will be given
ambassadorial position he is articulate. if Riek indeed become the
Vice president, Then there will be rebellious dinka forces who will
join Dau Aturjong out of frustrations.my recommendation is not kind to
Riek, but atleast that will be a starting point from he can work to

heal the nation. another option is for Kirr, Riek, and Pagan
to retire and still be on the payrolls like others retired generals.

Who cares about your recommendations, Wani should be given the
presidency and Dr. Machar will be his deputy. Kiir must retire from
politics.

You don’t have to care, it is just my suggestion, one
thing you should know is that, Riek is hated by 85% of our populations
given the pain he let people went through.so any attempt to bring him
back to his former position cost Kirr’s his leadership.

Hahaaa! Retirement for Kiir and Riek is understood, but Pagan to
retire, it doesn’t make sense. Believe me brother, Pagan is going to
be the SPLM chairman soon after Kiir is gone; I was saying many time
the President violated the party rules and the transitional
constitution and thus he will not stay longer.
Wani can retire too because he is not a different maker.

Kiir should be replaced by Wani Igga period. If you think he is
not fit, then why did president choose him to be his deputy in the
first place?

Mr. Knight Wani Iga was given this position of first vice
president coz no one accepted the offer when incompetent Kiir sacked
his vice so he notice there is only one boy I the party known as mr
yes who is defined as (yes boy) by the Dinka elders
