WAU, 15 February 2016 [Gurtong]- There has not been any confirmation
as to who was fighting government forces in the area.

“We are really confused about who is fighting who in Besillia, Safa,
Kapi in Abushaka Payam because the information coming in said that
these are cattle keepers fighting the local farmers who are the
residents and in other information we got said the fighting started on
Saturday when four SPLA army officers who were coming to Wau town from
Abushaka came under attack,” said the MP.

He said civilians homes were also on Saturday burned to ashes.

He said that most of the civilian ran to the bush while others moved
into the town for safety.
Those who have arrived in Wau town claimed that their homes were
burned by the government forces after three of their colleague were
killed within Safa village.

SPLA officers were not available for a comment on the claims.
