Blood drive in Abyei leads to drop in mortality rate ABYEI (6 Oct.) A blood donation campaign has led to a drop in mortality rates, according to the MSF hospital in Agok.
In August, lab technician John Bosco said that 43 individuals donated 34 units of blood. “We have used up those units and have saved many lives," Bosco said. But health workers in the facility say that blood is still in high demand because of malaria cases. Next Saturday MSF will launch the second blood donation drive under the theme “Every Blood Donor Is A Hero”. Doctors stress that malaria prevention and good nutrition are key factors in resisting diseases and reducing the need for blood transfusion. -- To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] Visit this group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/southsudankob View this message at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/southsudankob/topic-id/message-id For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
