The authorised rights’ protectors are the very violators in the country,
South Sudan women have revealed to the visiting African Union or AU Special
Envoy.

The women made the revelation in a closed door meeting with the AU Envoy on
Wednesday in Juba.

Beneta Diop says it is South Sudanese to decide what should be done to
avoid violations such as rape, land grabbing, denial to access food and
other humanitarian assistance.

The Envoy observes that politicians exploit ethnic differences to divide
and conquer civil population for their selfish interests. Envoy Diop
diagnoses African problem of governance as objection to power sharing.

She urges political elites to accept power sharing for peace and security
to reign in the African continent and South Sudan in particular.

Mahawa Kaba Wheeler, AU Commission Gender Development Director urges South
Sudan women and youth to unite for peace to realize the most desired
Africa.

The AU officials were speaking to journalists in Juba on Wednesday. Their
focus was restoring women dignity and rights in South Sudan.
